Artvryday! (Art-Everyday) - Day 15

Personal Work : 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞 1

I'm going to keep my art posts short, and do a weekly blog post once a week.  This format will work much better with my schedule, and the content will be much more dope.  Learning to think outside the box when it comes to compositions; following in the footsteps of Eytan Zana.  Till tomorrow, friends.

Personal Work : 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐟

It has been two weeks, and I couldn't be happier with my progress; slow and steady.  Quick new piece update before bed.  Blessings, interweb.  Not much, but more to come - stay tuned, friends.

Personal Work : 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐝 - 𝑈𝑝𝑑𝑎𝑡𝑒 6

You guys aren't tired of these right?!  Nooooooo... not my loyal fans!  Day 13 - we are almost to the two week mark and I couldn't be more excited to keep pushing.  So sixth update here; yes I may work slow, but 'tis only but a minor thing in the grand scheme of things.  As long as I keep disciplined the skill and timing will come along.  So you will have to excuse my fanboy addition of purple onto the pitlord, but I just watched Black Panther and that armor was gorgeous.  I plan on doing a plein air painting tomorrow to mix things up a bit - stay plugged, muggles.

Personal Work : 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐝 - 𝑈𝑝𝑑𝑎𝑡𝑒 5

Hey guys and gals, I definitely dropped the ball during my travels, but there is no sense in crying over split milk; and with that - I jump back on the horse!  Quick update to my "Pitlord" piece - I am absolutely loving this process, and I am finding myself concentrating much more deeply with my work.  Trust me guys, it gets better.  Armor is something I have never done, but I am feeling really good about adding detail onto silhouettes.  Moving right along, everyone - stay tuned, space cadets.

Traveling Art : The Journey Continues!

Drove to LA last night, and still made time to draw!  In any other case I would've surrendered to my laziness, and not produce anything.  But I am dedicated, I promise!  Bumpy car ride, but I decided to let my pen loose and draw whatever came to mind (a super meditative process, by the way.)  Spooky dead, moody trees.

Personal Work : Pitlord - Update 4

We made it to double digits!  Day 10 is my first milestone if many, so I would like to just keep this one simple, and grace you all with one of my favorite quotes by none other than Marcus Aurelius, "The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way."  This quote has always resonated with me, it's so powerful because good and bad things are presented to us all on a daily basis; it is ultimately how we decide to act that determines the outcome.  It may not even matter if the situation persists to something negative afterwards - we still get to choose how it plays out within.  As above, so below.

I got some feedback from the Discord group I am apart of, and decided to act on that a bit - here's what your boys got so far.

Personal Work : Pitlord - Update 3

Day 9!  Whaaaaaat?!  I think it's safe to say this has become a habit, and a great one at that.  A mother flippin' fantastic one!  If you love something, you must pursue that thing; follow your damn noses.  It is never too late - even if you are a parent, or you don't feel like you would possibly have time for it.  For example, I work full time in a job that has almost nothing to do with art, but I have a vision for how I want to live my life, and a vision for how I want to make a living.  I want to set an example for my future children - a message that they can aspire to actualize into whatever human they would like to be.  My humans will rock.  But I digress - without further ado here is another "Pitlord" update - I am having a blasty blast with this piece.  My inspiration for my rock formations is none other than the great Craig Mullins; I absolutely adore his painterly like brush work, and can't wait to improve to that echelon of artistry.  If I am going to be honest, I think I've veered away from my original composition, but I am having way too much fun getting lost in the details (not recommended lol.)  I think I will be posting this most recent update to my Discord group (shout out to the ConceptArt crew) for some much needed critique.  I cannot stress the amount of ultra gains from receiving good critique, and this is one of my favorite places to give and receive it.  Not only do you get some great advice, but in addition you start to take down your walls that make you sensitive about your artwork (something I am definitely working on.)  My instructor in school told us this process was called, "killing your babies."  I love you guys - see you soon space cowgirls.

Plein Air : Digital Adventure - Round 2!

I cannot believe it has been over a week now!  Day 8, ladies and gentlemen, and I present to you another digital plein air painting.  These will be a regular occurrence, so if they bother you - kick ROCKS!  Oh man, Eytan Zana is hosting a digital plein air event in LA, and your boy just might have to go!  It is very expensive, but it is really hard to put a price on an experience like that - here is the link for that event.  One Pixel Brush CONCEPT ART MASTERCLASS.  Mention my name if you go, maybe he will adopt me.  Anyway!   Today's plein air was brought to you by a snooty golf course I snuck into, overlooking the Los Altos hills.  I was cut short after 20 minutes, and asked to leave, but I was happy with the turn out.  I will admit though, the need for a proper plein air digital painting setup 'tis great mi'laddies!  I will be shooting for a setup like this very soon.

If you are a growing artist and this Artvryday thing sounds like something you would be interested in doing, by all means take up the helm, and just dive in; you have nothing to lose, but infinity to gain.  Please don't be afraid to message me with any questions - we're in this together.  Until next time, space cowboys.

Artvryday! (Art-Everyday) - Day 7

Personal Work : Pitlord - Update 2

Day 7, sonnnnnnn! It has been a whole week!  I cannot express to you how rewarding this is for me; I highly recommend doing something on the same lines.  Like... I'm excited to do plein air paintings on my flippin' lunch break at work - ME!  That's gnarly.  I am also thinking of incorporating meditation into my daily process, and really do justice to the 'Reflections' portion of my site.  Anyway, back to what we are all here for, the "Pitlord" update.  I am having so much fun conceptualizing the story of this scene, as well as making it make sense.  I get a huge kick out of getting up out of my chair, and mimicking the poses from my characters to see how well they work.  In addition, the challenge of covering the 3D is proving more difficult than I thought, but I am so game for the challenge; I welcome failure, and all the growth that comes with it.  Stay tuned, space cowboys.

Just a quick update before the day ends.  Day 6 and nobody said it would be easy!  Stay tuned for more updates.
